Do you take insurance? 
  • Yes, we take most insurance plans.

Does it cost more to see a board-certified pediatrician?

  • Your co-pay is the same at San Gabriel Pediatrics as it is at a regular family doctor's office.
  • Dr. Hossalla, Dr. Gipson, and Dr. Rose are board certified pediatricians.

Why are wellness visits considered so important?

  • This is the ounce of prevention that save the pound of cure. If they
    were not important, your insurance would not be willing to pay for them.   Wellness visits and immunizations are vital towards the comprehensive care of your child!

Are there advantages to going to a pediatrician over a family doctor?

  • Pediatricians see nobody but children. They should at least be more familiar with the viruses and childhood illnesses running through the community. Plus, they have three more years of medical training
    directed towards children's medical needs.

 

Can we just drop by for a pre-sports physical?
  • No!  An extensive physical is required along with paperwork.  Please make an appointment at least a month in advance.  See our office policies.

Do you believe children should get flu shots?

  • Yes!  Everyone over 6 months of age should get a yearly flu vaccination.  However, It is especially recommended for children 6 months to 5 years, including children in high-risk groups, such as those with asthma. 
 
 

When should my child get vaccines?

I have heard getting vaccines can be dangerous. Is this true??

What are the common diseases we should vaccinate for?

  •  An interesting way to learn about about common diseases is on the
     FDA website.  They explain to you and your child what diseases and symptoms we vaccinate for and how they work.
